Additional Information

Landscape with The Old Church of Scheveningen with at the right hand side the Oude Vuurbaak.

Paintings by Jacob Classon are hard to find, only a few appeared on the market. Classon worked in the atelier of Anthony van der Cross in ca 1658. The striking gold yellow sky which is typical for the work of Van der Croos is clearly visible in the current painting. The time of day is sunrise, the sun rises from the east and the light shines on the eastern part of church and tower.
